As our Head of Safety Operations, Lew is leading the successful completion of our Safety Management System. Andrew joined Airways as an air traffic controller and worked as an aerodrome and approach controller in towers around New Zealand before moving into various management roles.
Phil is an air navigation services specialist and Performance Based Navigation expert. Andy’s role includes demand and capacity management, product and service development and improvement, system and procedure enhancement oversight, operational liaison with airport and airline customers, international relations in air traffic flow management, driving professionalism and championing safety, safety and risk oversight, and noise management for terminal operations. ASPIRE partners have the common goal of saving fuel, reducing emissions and ensuring the sustainable future of flight. Under ASPIRE, Airways and our partners the FAA and Airservices Australia work closely with governments, airlines, and other air navigation service providers in the region to develop new technologies, procedures and metrics for measuring and improving environmental efficiency in the aviation industry. The intention of the trial run in collaboration with Auckland Airport and the Board of Airline Representatives New Zealand was to improve flight path and aircraft efficiency, and reduce the impact of aircraft noise on the community
