It's about building your audience and communicating with them in exciting new ways. Crowdfunding works when people feel connected to a project and the people behind it. The donor's reward is connecting with other interesting people and to support artistic projects they believe add value to our world. You'll need to ask some people three or four times before they get around to giving. The Lion Foundation is supporting the Arts Foundation to revolutionise the way in which the arts are funded in New Zealand.
If you are a company, it is an excellent way to show your support for a project and develop a close relationship with the project's supporters. Donors who have supported successful projects will receive a receipt for tax purposes. Vaughn Davis owns Auckland based advertising and social media company The Goat Farm, where he works with a range of clients using all manner of tricks to connect brands to people. Simon Bowden Arts Foundation Executive Director has been leading the Arts Foundation since 2002.
Simon has an Advanced Diploma in Jazz Studies from Wellington Polytechnic, a BA in Public Policy from Victoria University and is half way through an MBA at Massey University. Brani has over 11 years of experience in mobile creativity and design across multiple continents. A passionate supporter of the arts, she loves going behind the scenes for insights into the creative process. Matt is a freelance illustrator, fine artist, member of White Cloud Worlds and senior tutor at Massey University in Wellington.
Originally from Illinois, USA, Charley made the move to Wellington in 2002 for postgraduate studies at Victoria University of Wellington where he completed a Bachelor of Music Honours and Postgraduate Diploma in performance, and a Master of Music in Musicology with Distinction in 2005. With 9 years of experience at Promethean Editions he has helped to promote composers and their works to a world wide audience of performers, artists and organisations. Jessica gained a postgraduate scholarship towards further study and holds a Master of Fine Arts Hons degree from Elam School of Fine Arts, The University of Auckland . Jessica maintains a career as a fine art valuer and educator alongside her international artistic practice. When the project hits its financial target inside its time limit, the artist gets the money less our 10 fee to help keep the site running and the Boosters get a tax credit 33 for donations 5 and up and that warm feeling that only comes from helping someone challenge our thinking through creating art. Now you need to work through the Boosted guidelines to give your project the best possible chance of success.
