Minimum Number Policy All Training Academy events require minimum numbers of attendees to be registered at a given location at least 20 days prior to the event commencing. Should a participant need to cancel their attendance prior to an event for which they have a confirmation registration notice of this must be received in writing by the Training Academy office. Through its National Diploma in Building Control Surveying and Continuing Professional Development CPD based courses the Training Academy's goal is to provide qualifications support and professional skills maintenance throughout ones working life. The Training Academy provides relevant, up to date quality training and events for building control staff, the building industry, and anyone who is interested in building compliance and quality building outcomes.
Our Continuing Professional Development CPD programme allows for the ongoing acquisition of knowledge, skills, and training aimed at improving and enhancing existing professional practice, and developing the personal qualities required in professional life. A key function of the Institute is to facilitate communication between our members, and the wider building industry. RYANFIRE is a New Zealand based Company whose management has almost 30 years experience in the development, manufacture, testing and distribution of passive fire protection products
The Building Officials Institute of New Zealand was formed following an amalgamation of the Plumbing and Drainage Institute Inc and the New Zealand Institute of Building Inspectors Inc in 1998.
The New Zealand Institute of Building Inspectors was formed in 1967 which is the date now adopted by the Building Officials Institute of New Zealand as its commencement date. The New Zealand Institute of Building Inspectors formed the first of 8 branches which still survive today. The first meeting of NZIBI was held on 31 May 1967 at the Paparua County Council Officers in Christchurch, following an interim committee being formed in the previous year by the Engineers and Chief Building Inspectors of the Christchurch Metropolitan Area. Presidents were elected for a three year term and the National office was formed in 2005 and has been growing in strength ever since.
The Training Academy was then established in 2006 and continues to offer high quality course material for the National diplomas. The Institute is committed to ensuring the quality of New Zealand's buildings meet the requirements of the community and their occupiers. Poor quality building options are not acceptable and all involved in the building industry need an acute awareness of the Building Code and associated regulations, thereby ensuring the community has overall faith in New Zealand's building stock. The majority of the Building Officers Inspectors involved were Institute members
