We are a not for profit organisation and represent more than 300 clubs around the country including chartered clubs, community clubs, cosmopolitan clubs, workingmen's clubs, sports clubs and RSAs. The Mission of Clubs New Zealand is to promote and safegaurd the interests, rights and privileges of member clubs. Clubs New Zealand has a rich heritage of providing hospitality to members for well over 100 years. Clubs New Zealand aims to be the point of call for member support through expert advice, benefits and services, that help to create long term sustainability for our industry.
We aim to have clubs recognised as viable and supportive places to work and build careers. We are passionate about the Club Industry and dedicated to providing help and support to our Members. We provide advice on issues such as employment, governance, management, membership, constitutions, amalgamations and mergers to name a few. We are active advocates for our Clubs we represent member's interests at National and Local Government levels as well as to the commercial sector. RECIPROCAL RIGHTS Clubs New Zealand Membership gives you affiliation with approximately 300 Clubs across New Zealand.
This means your members will be able to enter and use Club facilities wherever their travels around the country may take them, likewise over 280,00 Club members will be able to use your facilities. SPORTS TOURNAMENTS Clubs New Zealand is responsible for 55 sporting tournaments annually, which are open to all Members of financial Clubs New Zealand Member Clubs. The sporting tournaments offer a great opportunity for Members to host and visit affiliated Clubs right across the country, and to join the approximately eight thousand participants who partake in Clubs New Zealand sports each year. As a member you will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with the Management and Executive of over 300 Clubs across New Zealand.
Whether it's at the Clubs New Zealand annual Conference AGM, Management Conference or the local area meetings there is much to gain from coming together and sharing our ideas. CLUB MANAGERS GROUP The Club Managers Group was formed to provide a supportive platform for Club Managers to come together network, share ideas and grow great clubs. The group is currently made up of around 160 managers from across New Zealand and meets twice a year. We also send out regular sporting newsletters covering our 17 sporting codes.
RESOURCES AND TOOLS As part of our service we provide our Clubs with 100s of resources and tools covering topics such as employment, bar management, food beverage plus many more. Clubs New Zealand is committed to providing training options to enable Executive and Staff to be the very best they can. We also have a unique relationship with ServiceIQ who can work with clubs on an individual basis to find the training programmes that work for you. Clubs New Zealand is committed to host responsibility and this is evident through our extensive resources and support network for members. The ClubCare harm minimisation programme is part of our commitment to help you achieve that. It's also part of creating a welcoming environment where your members can enjoy themselves safely.
Our aim is to cut out the middle man and provide our members with a choice of fantastic providers at the best prices. The first Conference of Delegates from the Working Men's Clubs took place in Wellington on June 25th 26th 1896. The Evening Post reported that the conference was to discuss affiliation and management of all Clubs of the kind and to watch pending legislation affecting Clubs
