The owners of this Karori house wanted to re configure the living, dining and kitchen space and relate these better to the extensive view of bush and beyond.
A fresh kitchen with adjacent family room and home office is the heart of the home offering expansive views of Wellington Barbour. This extensive reconstruction of a 1910 house included the addition of a second deposit and ground floor extensions. We respect the integrity of existing structures and heritage buildings and enjoy the defy of integrating new facilities within and alongside them. Each project is a fresh defy since the building fabric and the site are individual.
This wing includes service areas, a den office and further bedrooms to accommodate visitors, friends and family in important and small groups. The practice principal is involved in every job and especially in the briefing and concept plan stages. We study the requirements of the Architects Act, the Code of Practice and Professional Conduct. The lofty gallery entrance door leads into light occupied spaces, with contrasting with between the plastered concrete.
