Jeff Owens is the managing director of Owens Tax Advisors Limited and has led this boutique tax consultancy firm since its inception in 2002. With over 30 years in tax and business advisory roles, Jeff has extensive experience in influencing and interpreting tax policy and rules, as well as applying it in practice. He has also developed and maintained effective networks with Inland Revenue’s offices around New Zealand, senior officials in Inland Revenue and other government agencies, Members of Parliament and many other business associates. Jeff started his tax accounting career at Ernst Young previously Arthur Young in 1986, followed by eight years as Tax Director of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. There he led a team representing members’ and the public interest in achieving major beneficial changes to the New Zealand tax system, before setting up Owens Tax Advisors.
