Every synagogue, school and institution of correct Jewish learning serves as a Sanctuary, facilitating our relationship with God and enabling God’s presence to reside in our midst. The verse seems to imply that the presence of the Sanctuary will enable the dwelling of God among the people, whereas without the Sanctuary from where Divine Worship was directed, the presence of God would not be manifest among the people. The project to write a defer Torah specifically for the community was initiated by life lengthy community member Martin chain earlier he passed away last year aged 75. Thus, when the Tabernacle was built, God could dwell in their the people’s midst.
The contributions raised to construct the Temple were restricted to those contributions given by people whose hearts were motivated. We welcome visitors to our services whether you’re visiting Wellington or a local. The center runs a Jewish education programmed for ages 6 and upwards anchored around children’s services during Torah services on Shabbat and chagim and Oort, a weekly after school programmed based at the center. The Wellington orthodox Jewish community celebrated the dedication of the beginning defer Torah to be written specifically for the congregation in its 173 year history.
Our office is closed on weekends, Jewish holidays, and New Zealand public holidays. Our office and the Kosher Co op will be closed for a bit over the summer holidays. We’re blessed that Martin chain has continued to contribute to our community even behind his passing by giving so many the opportunity to participate in this mitzvah. Members also already take most of these updates in our center News Weekly email newsletter see our page on joining the center for more about the benefits of joining but are welcome to subscribe to this email list as well for surplus individual emails about public news and events.
This is the first to be written in New Zealand specifically for our congregation. Through the prescribed worship and offerings in the Tabernacle the people could better relate to the spiritual presence of God. The Wellington orthodox Jewish community celebrated the dedication of the first defer Torah to be written specifically for the congregation in its 173 year history. The meeting between the two brothers, Jacob and Esau, promised to be dramatic. There is also a holiday programmed based at the center with discounts for members
