Our newly launched Scooter Aid project, has been set up to provide refurbished scooters to charities and hospitals in New Zaland for the children in their care. The idea is to help in the best way we can, by giving refurbed Micro scooters to children who could do with a good dose of fun and happiness. Or a child who needs help to work on particular balance and co ordination issues. One of our objectives here at Child Cancer Foundation is to support the whole family through the terrible and shocking diagnosis that is cancer.
We run a strong sibling support programme as very often siblings are left home while one or both parents are away for lengthy stays at hospitals in other cities, or they have to leave their home and go and stay in Ronald McDonald house and school for months on end. The impact on them is often overlooked and so the Micro Scooter Aid project is a perfect fit for them. The Child Cancer Foundation is there for each child, and their family, from that terrible time of diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond. At any given time the Foundation’s team is assisting more than 500 families’ nationwide offering support in hospital, at home and in the community. The Foundation aims to reduce the impact of cancer by offering services that ensure children and their families are supported, informed and remain connected at every stage of their journey.
At Wellington Women’s Refuge we were super excited to receive the generous donation of Micro scooters for a range of ages from pre schooler through to primary age through to teen. For children staying in the safe house with their mothers these will be much appreciated. We have a large private back yard at the safe house with a concreted area and this is proving pretty perfect for scooter races!. We will also be able to give out scooters to families we are working with in the community who would not normally have access to something like this.
Wellington Women’s Refuge and Te Whare Rokiroki, Maori Women’s Refuge are not for profit charitable organisations who provide services to women and children in the Wellington community. We provide support and advocacy for women and their children who have or are experiencing domestic violence. When thinking of a new idea the Swiss design team always asks the same question, how can we make getting from A to B more practical, time saving and fun at the same time? Read below on some of our favourite innovations how they've changed the way we travel. After the first prototype was made in 1997, the first folding scooter was introduced by Micro Mobility Systems to the market in 199. Designed for frequent flyers to save time and energy travelling through terminals.
Three years have gone into the development of this one of a kind scooter for the snow. The emicro one is the ultimate riding experience that keeps you active and gets you further. Like the emicro one, this electric scooter supports every kick you make with power. People can't help but smile when they see it with it's furturistic and retro charm
