What you should know about Surf Life Saving NZ
This may be the Club closest to you, a Club where your friends and your family are members or purely just because you spend your summer months at this beach. Once you have decided what Club you would like to join, complete the online membership application form. Most people who are not Active members, but have an interest in the club such as parents, social and honorary members , will be Associate members. Membership types do not confer competition rights to compete for the club in question only primary membership does this.

The Event Manager is in charge of planning and organising the event from start to finish. They are the key communicator to the membership for the event s and will work with the Event Referee and Event Safety Officer Event Management Committee to deliver a safe and exciting event that retains members in Surf Life Saving. There are six National Events SLSNZ are seeking applications for Event Managers. Surf Life Saving New Zealand is currently looking to employ an individual to take responsibility for Club Support in Taranaki.
The purpose of this role is to assist clubs in the Taranaki area to ensure they can work effectively enabling the development of their members. The successful applicants will be charged with the selection of our New Zealand Teams and Squads who will complete against other nations at international events. A successful ILS Event Director must have a broad knowledge of Lifesaving Event Management and must have a strategic mindset to assist potential organisers to bid for the events and to assist appointed Hosts and Organising Committees in the preparation and the production of the Events. Our Beach Education programme is a full day beach and surf safety course delivered by trained surf lifeguards. The Board employs the Chief Executive and the CE delivers an annual management plan to support the Board's strategies that will see the organisation fulfill its purpose Protecting our community in the water. Surf Life Saving is both a sport and a community service, our business is very broad and programmes diverse. The traditions that took root there first came to the shores of Lyall Bay and New Brighton in 1910. For 60 years, that meant teams of lifeguard lifting reel and line to the beach.
These days women stand alongside men on surf patrols throughout New Zealand and compete in all the same events
